Cygnet expected to increase Aston Martin sales by more than 30 percent
The launch of Aston Martin’s Cygnet city car is expected to increase sales by more than 30% over the past year. In 2009, the carmaker sold only 4000 units as its sales were affected by the global recession.

In 2008, 5800 were sold. Aston CEO Ulrich Bez forecasts that 2010’s sales would exceed 2008’s with more than 6000 units sold. Bez believes that the launch of the Toyota iQ-based Cygnet and the four-door Rapide saloon will boost Aston’s sales. However, Booze doesn’t expect 2010 to be a vintage year for luxury car sales.

Uh oh! this thing might destroy Aston if they start selling over 100,000 vehicles and are then subject to stricter emissions laws.

to be driven by all the ladies with their LV and Chanel purses, real and fake alike. If I were the head of Aston, I'd definitely give this a go. I don't see Aston Martin's image ruined in anyway.

They're only doing this to average out the emissions of the whole range to industry requirements.. As if anyone thought Aston Martin cared about selling any at all... But there'll be a few suckers out there who'd pay top dollar for an iQ..
