Upcoming B-Class AMG sedan will carry a turbocharged four-cylinder engine

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz B-Class-based AMG sedan won’t be powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder; instead, it will have a 3.2-liter supercharged V-6, according to British magazine Autocar’s report.

The mill is based on the forthcoming 3.5-liter engine that will first be used in the new CLS350. The smaller AMG, codenamed EVO, will get similar coupe-like styling like the CLS. This means that the car will have four frameless doors and a steeply raked profile. An electronically operated pressure wave supercharger is force-feeding the engine. The technology, which is widely used in tractor and big diesel applications, utilizes pressure waves from the exhaust to boost engine induction.
