RUMOR: Chrysler Knows They Need A FRESH Product, Rushing U.S. 300C Launch
The Wall Street Journal reports:

Chrysler Group LLC is rushing to accelerate the U.S. launch of its redesigned flagship sedan, a once hot-selling model whose sales have slipped, as part of a push to keep on track its ambitious turnaround plan, said three people familiar with the matter.

The company is off to a sluggish start this quarter, and now needs a sales surge later this year to hit its target of selling 1.1 million vehicles in the U.S. When the car maker set the 2010 goal in November it predicted it would break even this year.

Wow! You can see the LED daytime running lights and the big "Audi like" grill plain as day in that photo!

Chrysler was planning to fail for years before Fiat arrived. Virtually nothing in the way of new product development had been going on in the 24 months prior to bankruptcy.

The new Jeep Cherokee is a year overdue. The replacements for their mid-size sedans are two-years behind where they should be. And the Caliber/Patriot twins need to be dropped and replaced sooner than later but wont.

The sad thing is that the "new 300" is barely more than a mild facelift.

Well it was kind of hard for Chrysler to get new products out when Mercedes took Chrysler's cash reserves and gave bonuses to all German employees/fianced Smart/halted new product development. They have product coming but it seems to little/to late.

The last thing chrysler needs to do is rush a product.

In a way Veyron you are correct. To expand on that I feel Chrysler needs to do something now to show an improvement. Chrysler needs to say here is what we can do now and here is where we are going. That is a very delicate ballance. With the changes that have been made, they have the tools to follow through but its the response from the media that will have an effect on consumers. IMHO

I'm just wishing them luck. I don't want to see them fail and would love to see a nice 300 replacement.
