Mercedes-Benz E65 AMG - It's Coming!
The German magazines Auto Motor und Sport is reporting that Mercedes is releasing a new AMG E class in the summer of this year. The new model will be called E65 AMG and the company has already patented the name with the German patent department. Not much is known about the car except that it will use the 6.0 V12 from the '65 AMG models. Prices might start around 150,000 Euros.

I would not be suprise if this MB E65 AMG has close to 600 hp and around 500+ feet of torque as well. I love the front of the new MB E-Class but I'm Not digging the rear (it remind me of a Hyundai) = )

it would have more than that. The new S63 with the twin turbo V8 will have figures close to (horespower) or higher (torque) than what you just said, so the new E63 should be the same, let alone the E65. I don't remember the exact figures off the top of my head but the S65 AMG has like 604hp and actually has torque RESTRICTED to "only" 738lb-ft so it doesn't grenade the transmission.

Either way I would seriously doubt they'll bring the car to the U.S. A $150k E-class wouldn't sell enough to be worth the investment.

I guess the many Brabus hyper e classes have caught on with Mercedes

Oh I really hope so. And if they make an Estate version that'll be more than enough to take on the RS6 Avant.

I will never understand the point of a V12 engine, V8's and V10's sound better, perform better, are more efficient, improve the cars overall dynamics and are more reliable..My father had an S600 and my friend had an S500, and let me tell you, the S500 was always my preference...

V12 engines are ultra smooth, can be much more silent, and have a much higher torque output which means cars with V12 engines accelerate effortlessly on highways.

Well I think that it is a move to keep the E over the new 5 in terms of power cause the new M5 will have 2 HP more than the 5.5TT of AMG.

E class needs all the help like more new engines and optional sportier kits to balance a very weak design. New E already feels old to me.
