NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: First REAL-Life Shots Of Nissan's Juke, Is It This The Styling Nissan Needs?

NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: First REAL-Life Shots Of Nissan's Juke, Is It This The Styling Nissan Needs?
Nissan's Juke certainly is a strange looking beast. I cannot quite put my finger on it.

It is like a mix between something Italian, for the front lights, a Kia Soul, for the roofline, and a Volvo wagon, for the rear's taillights.

Ultimately there are two questions to ask here:

1) Is this the lively styling Nissan needs to inject some more life into the brand?

Think about it: is there a Nissan product, besides the 370Z, that has emotion built into its design -- the automotive community seems to find the GT-R not that good looking, do you believe that?!

2) Does it work?

There are certainly some interesting design themes going on here but I have yet to decide if it creates a flow, like a great automotive design should.

What do you think, Spies?

This hurts by North-American eyes. Other cultures may find it attractive, though.

Considering the Quest is a minivan, it doesn't look too bad... especially when compared to its domestic competitors.

The Juke on the other-hand is a little too outrageous for my taste. Dunno, maybe the kiddies will love it.

It looks ok to me,I would be concerned about the short crumple zone behind the rear passengers

Yes, it's exactly what they need to get themselves out of business.

The Cube, the new M, the QX56 and now this Junk thing... If I was a Nissan shareholder I'll be concerned.

Those lights look like two big warts on the face. Please Nissan, take it to the best Beverly Hills plastic surgeon money can buy.
