NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: Subaru's Impreza WRX HITS THE WEIGHTS, You Dig It?

NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: Subaru's Impreza WRX HITS THE WEIGHTS, You Dig It?
You know, if there is one car that does not seem to get enough respect in the real world, it is the Subaru Impreza, particularly the WRX. But, that is likely to change now.

The 2011 Impreza WRX will boast a new body kit, which is loosely inherited from the STI. This means that its front and rear track will be widened 1.5 inches, likely to improve its handling characteristics. Tell me that does not command respect!

Additionally, the 2011 'Rex will see some other modifications in form of the firmer rear subframe bushings and wider tires.

I wonder if the Impreza will have the grip of a Hoover vacuum cleaner.

Oh, and by the way, do you see any likeliness in the rear bumper design?

Unfortunately, the show car was painted in red, which is the hardest color to photograph. I wish it was in silver...

Still bland in design, no matter how much horsepower they throw at it.

If you want bland looks go to your nearest Cadillac dealer.

Fail. I have an 08 STi and the fender flares should have stayed there. I hate to think what the '11 STi will come to look like :/

I was never a fan of the current Impreza sedan's looks. This helps it out considerably, IMO.

Does anyone have the specs for the new WRX STI?
