Toyota VP Gives No Indication When Incentives Will End

Toyota VP Gives No Indication When Incentives Will End
Don Esmond, Toyota U.S. senior vice president, on Thursday said incentives will be extended beyond April 5, but he declined to divulge details.

"As we do on a on monthly basis, we'll take a look at the current market, (and) what our competitors are (doing)," said Esmond. "We need a little bit of a kick-start to kind of get the market in our direction and we'll continue. We're not going to walk away from our customers."

On Wednesday, Toyota U.S. brand sales chief Bob Carter, speaking about sales incentives, said, "Why would I change? I would have to have my head examined to change these programs."

They have to pump the incentives until people forgot about pedal issues and pray to God no other recalls come to life.

Autospies gives all brands good/bad PR pretty evenly people like you see a few months of bad light on Toyota and you go nuts as if you own the company.

I hope at least he will give some indication when the unintended acceleration will end!

I fayl to see how this will hurt everyone else when 1. The bad cars they have been making for the last decade has smeered Toyotas name and brought them down a few pegs to a level with everyone else. 2. With the money they are putting on thier cars these days to get people to buy what happens when Toyotas resale value is on par with Ford/GM? 3. Who is going to buy a Toyota with all these problems and a lesser warranty than other companies that have longer warranties and made better cars as of late?

When sales slip even worse they will have to introduce another incentive before they go broke, Instead of spending all there money on advertising why don't they put it into quality? Adding better blends of metal ...Quality! Then I would consider one.Advertising is for the ignorant.

Tons of Automakers have had recalls worse, the media is just focusing on Toyota because they have or had the long history but when you think about it, this is an advantage for Toyota, they've learned from there mistakes and just wait till they make a come back

Learned from their mistakes? You got to be kidding! They still have not isolated the root cause of unintended acceleration and have yet to take full culpability!

Toyota still needs to learn how to build a quality car which is safe, reliable and durable!
