Nice Review Of The 2011 BMW 335d M-Sport- The ULTIMATE Ultimate Driving Machine?
The 335d is scary fast on the highway. Even in 6th gear the massive torque output allows the speedo to seamlessly rip through the numbers on its way to triple digits. Good luck adhering to the break-in recommended top speed of 93mph. Throughout our trip both my wife and I were continuously bouncing off our set 90mph speed limit chime with even small applications of right pedal in passing situations.

All in all the 335 truly represents Diesel done right and perhaps the ultimate highway-driving machine. In a sleek sexy package you get an absolute fuel sipping torque monster that is comfortable yet incredibly agile. I can honestly say I have absolutely no regrets what so ever having given up my 335i for a 335d. If this is the future of Diesel consider me sold.

"Diesel done right" - that perfectly illustrates the current state of diesel cars. I've had the fortune of driving in Europe and find their car trend very appealing (IMO). Practical, diesel orientation, small and efficient, very apt for their environment and economy (and they're willing to give hybrid a shot as well). We Americans remind me of children eating habits. Once tasted something unique in our younger days we are reluctant to try it until well into our adulthood. Diesel cars in the US left a bad impression and we're not willing to give its much improved version a try. I, personally, think we're worse off because of our stubbornness. But I guess given our political strength in the Middle East, we can afford our affinity to petrol and V-8s. I hope current trend is permanent whereby our American car companies are seriously investing into smaller and more practical cars and car technologies.

Do you know how much Torque the Diesel 335 produces ?

If it is offered with manual transmissions in the USA BMW NA will loose Millions in Clutch and Gearbox replacements on vehicles being driven by retarded drivers.

To bad the wheels will bend... the suspension will bend...the engine is good the bracket it is attached to is designed for Germany not the USA. Oh I know this is sacrilege for BMWSpies to loath your precious!
