Clarkson HATES The BMW X6, Yet His Colleagues At Top Gear Magazine Dig It, YOU Decide...
Top Gear reports:

Take the world's most urban SUV to Europe's largest wilderness to go wolf-hunting? Tom Ford really should have thought this one through...

When BMW called the X6 a ‘Sports Activity Vehicle', it never said what sports, or specified what activities... though one suspects that BMW probably regards the designation as involving over-aerobicised lifestyle droids rollerblading followed by a stint of vigorous casual posing. Something picturesque and over-clean that means you can't see the bovine glaze in the model's eyes, or the ribbons of silvery drool from the corners of their vacant mouths. Photographer Justin Leighton and I, on the other hand, regarded it as an open door for imaginative interpretation. Which is why we are now stood - woefully underprepared - in a 60,000-hectare Polish wilderness trying to lure wolves from their hidey holes with half-eaten ham sandwiches. In the middle of the night....

It looks goofy as hell, but drive superbly well, it reminds me of the E39 M5.

I think the only reason why Clarkson hates it is because he views in his head that a luxury suv has to look big square and boxy.

Clarkson is an entertainer and not to be taken seriously.

Clarkson drives more cars than you or me or anyone on this board and probably more cars than most magazine editors. He drives like a normal schmoe (like the rest of us) and has normal things to do (like the rest of us). I take his opinion more seriously than most people's, especially people on this forum.

Great writeup for a great vehicle. I first had my reservations about the X6 at first but after spending some time with the Hybrid version I've grown to like it very much and would easily take it over the Cayenne....

I think it the best looking car in it class. I saw a red one where I work and I like it a lot. Whomever design this car, did a really good job.

It looks like a very sporty car, Clarkson hates it because he spent 14 hrs winching it out of the ground, what was he thinking taking this in the mud? He should have taken a truck, I hate it when these cross overs are taken through a few mud puddles and then claim off road performance, I like this car and would love to own it, although I wouldn't take it places where winches are required.

I agree with Clarkson, this car is too high to be a sports car but too low to be an offroader. Pointless and ugly, regardless of the badge.

I second that.
