Nissan might bring Daimler into the U.S. light-commercial vehicle market
Nissan Motor Co. is bringing along its new partner, Daimler AG, in its efforts to succeed in the US light-commercial vehicle market. Renault-Nissan and Daimler AG’s global alliance will lead to the sharing of their US factories.

his could possibly bring these two companies together, with their brand names soon overlapping in the US market — Nissan and Mercedes-Benz commercial vans. Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche commented on the plans to share US factory resources.

It's b/c old Benz sees how well the Ford Transit Connect is doing and that it is cutting into the sprinter van business.

Diamler will loose the U.S. sprinter van business when Dodge goes to the Fiat van. Good luck Nissan.

Frankly, the NV is behind the trend. The use of the 4.0L and 5.6L V8s in these vehicles is passe to say the least. The Sprinter and the Transit Connect have proven that smaller, more eficient engines are the way to go. And where is the diesel option in the NV? Oh come on...
