Buick Is Succeeding In Attracting Younger Buyers But Would YOU Consider One?
Buick, the venerable General Motors Co. brand long maligned as catering to elderly buyers, is enjoying a rebirth in the United States and drawing younger, more affluent buyers, thanks to improved quality and styling. Just a year ago, the brand was headed for the scrap heap until then-GM Chief Executive Fritz Henderson convinced President Barack Obama's auto task force that Buick was worth saving, particularly in the booming Chinese market, as the automaker shrank from eight to four brands.

"They are making definite improvements in the U.S.," said Aaron Bragman, research analyst with consultant IHS Global Insight in Troy. "They made the right decision. To kill Buick would have been crazy. It's one of the most important brands in the Chinese market."

Last month, Buick sales in the United States rose 76 percent, and market share of the new Buick LaCrosse sedan climbed to almost 17 percent in the large-car segment, a one-two punch that is meeting Chairman and Chief Executive Edward Whitacre Jr.'s mandate that GM boost sales and market share after bankruptcy.

I would if it was the Regal GS. I was really lusting over it at the Dallas auto show. I'd prefer the V-6 turbo like in the Opel version, but I can understand the 4 cyl. turbo in this climate. It would have to retain AWD though. I haven't driven a FWD car since college.

As a 27 year old, I will say, with full confidence, I will NEVER own a Buick (and most likely any GM product) EVER.

If I would buy an American car I will buy a Ford, just like the direction they are heading in right now. The Taurus is pretty sharp

GM? BUICK?
GM is showing great gains in China, and I would suggest they apply to the Chinese government for financial support. Then they could repay their existing government loans and relocate the entire sinking ship in CHINA!
GM and their smoke and mirrors market numbers is simply appalling!
Gee, if the new GM lost 4.3 Billion in the last half of '09 without debt there must be a great future ahead. By the way - what happened to the Chevrolet Volt that was going to save the company? Perhaps more smoke? Gm was once an industry leader, and yes at one time on this planet there were the other dinosuars.

I bought a Buick. i am 25 years old. I was looking at the Honda accord, and Nissan Maxima. However, while at a Honda Dealer, I noticed a vehicle the caught my attention at the Buick Dealer. I walked over and without a doubt it was a Buick Lacrosse CSX. To make a long story short, I ended up purchasing the Lacrosse and love this car. I never even considered to buy a Buick, but the new Lacrosse is stunning.
