Auto Express is confirming AutoSpies.com predictions and reporting that an M3 killer and a retractable roof convertible, are right around the corner from Lexus.

It actually will be higher than 400 hp, I heard rumor going around that it will be in the 450-480+ horse power range. Like it are not it going to smoke the M3 for sure.

but what's up with the copy cat look of the BMW rear c-pillar kink? I hope when and if Lexus makes this car it does not use this.... a copy cat for sure then. But if Lexus really wants to compete head to head with BMW than a coupe would be on the right path.

I think Will knows all u bashers more than anybody else here.

My comment is same as his(Thats why no use typing)

And who said that G35 came and went. It's still very fresh, good looking and a good seller too.
And wait for the Upcoming G35R 400+ HP.It's right around the corner.Don't forget the upcomin monster,it will eat away what u call as the benchmark of performance "M3".

Let's comeback to Lexus.I think Will has said more than enough.
My sources says it's most probably getting a
V10 with 450 - 500 HP
or the new 4.6 litre V8 engine in the new LS with a turbo or hybrid battery attached.
to boost performance to 450+HP.

ANd one more thing:
Engine VS Engine: Which is better

a big heavy 5.5l V8 in MB giving 388 HP
or
a REAL ENGINE low displacement, high output engine in the Lexus.A 4.6L V8 GIVING 380 HP.

what's the difference:only 8 HP
BUT LEXUS DISPLACEMENT IS 0.9 LITRE LESS.ALMOST A LITRE LESS.

AND FOKER IT'S NOT FUNNY.

HAVE U GUYS SEEN HOW JAPANEES ALMOST DESTROYED OUR DOMESTIC BRANDS.

Q1: HOW DID THEY DO THAT?

BY SENDING MORE BETTER CARS THAN THEM.
SOME EXAMPLES NOW IN MY MIND

A FORD 500 VS COROLLA
A FUSION VS CAMRY
A YUKON VS PRADO
A SUBERBAN VS LAND CRIUSER
......ETC

FORM HERE U CAN CONCLUDE OR NOW U R IN A POSITION TO SAY THAT JAPANEESE ARE THE TOUGHSET,SUPREME IN THE AUTO WORLD.(NOT COUNTING ELECTRONICS AND ALL)

Q2: WHEN JAPANEESE ATE AMERICAN CARS.AND BECAME DOMINENT.NOW WHAT'S THERE NEXT LEVEL,WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO NEXT?

YES OFFCOURSE THEY WILL MOVE A STEP/LEVEL UP AND WANT TO CONQUER/DOMINATE IN ANOTHER (A WHOLE NEW) SEGMENT TOO.
THE BIG EUROPEANS OR PERTICULARLY GERMANS.

THATS WHY U CAN SEE TOYOTA GIVING LEXUS,NISSAN GIVING INFINTI,HONDA GIVING ACURA.
THESE CARS NOT PRODUCED TO FIGHT AMERICANS,THEY R OVER. BEATEN

THEY R PRODUCED TO COMPETE DIRECTLY THE UPPER CLASS GERMANS.

AND THEY R DOING FINE.AND ONE DAY GERMANS WILL ALSO BE BEATEN LIKE GM.

SOME JAPANEESE CARS HERE TO BEAT GERMANS:

LEXUS WHOLE LINE-UP
INFINTI WHOLE LINE-UP
ACURA WHOLE LINE-UP

UPCOMINGS:
1)LEXUS SUPER GT 500+HP
2)LEXUS IS GT 450+HP
3)LEXUS HYBRID OPTIONS IN ALMOST ALL VEHICLS
4)TOYOTA SUPRA 450+HP
5)INFINITI G35R 450+HP
6)SKYLINE GTR 450+HP
6)ACURA GT
7)HONDA GTR
8)HONDA HYBRIDS
9)MITSUBISHI EVO X
.........ETC

PLZ DON'T FEEL BAD,IF I SAID SOMETHING HURTING.WE R TRUE CAR FANATICS/LOVERS.AREN'T WE.THEN WHY GOING ON NATIONS,COUNTRIES.U SHOULD KNOW ONLY ONE THING THAT A PARTICULAR CAR IS GOOD OR NOT.
A CAR SHOULD BE A "VALUE"MOSTLY IN YOUR EYES,IN YOUR HEART,IN THE MARKET.

IT'S A FACT THAT JAPANEESE ARE AHEAD IN THE MOTORWORLD FROM EVERYONE.
AND THEY CAN BEAT OR GIVE CHALLENGES TO ANY CHAMP.AND SOON THEY BEAT THEM

I CAN SEE JAPANEESE ON TOP OF THE AUTO WORLD 10-15 YEARS FROM NOW.
FROM THE SMALLEST COMPACT CATEGORY TO ULTRA LUXURY AND PERFORMANCE CATEGORY.

No point in argueing...pointless. Japanese car fans will stick to their type of cars and bash other auto makers and vise/versa for German/US car fans.

I will be shocked if the IS has a V-10 because that will undercut the LF-A and start hell with engineers balancing weight front and rear. I can see the IS rated at about 400-410 with their 4.6 Turbo (Of course coming out after the M3, so they can tune the Lexus V8 to have slightly more power than the BMW). The IS may be able to step on the New Supra's toes since they are different brand names and most likely will have similar numbers.

A Lexus IS with a V-10 might manage to be faster than an M3 in straight line, but it will never handle as well as a BMW in the twisties.

Knowing Lexus, it wil probably only be available with an automatic. On the other hand, the Lexus IS will probably be marginally more reliable than an M3, and maybe even a little cheaper to service. Lexus might get a few conquest sales from BMW owners (and vice-versa), but these two cars don't really compete all that well for the same type of buyers.

This is a great looking car. Lexus should be applauded with what looks to be an beautiful interpretation of very good looking Bangle design language. Not only Bangle, even Hoffmeister was copied here! BMW should be flattered with such an obvious copy. Why wouldn't Lexus copy BMW? BMW netted over 4 Billion Euros last year (net!!!) Not to mention that Lexus has no history of their own to build upon. I would also like to remind the Lexus community that no matter if your car is faster you have yet to produce anything that communicates to the driver. Keep producing an isolated driving environment and keep chasing.

Some of you guys have good point and some of you don't. I'm not usually condescending but I have to do it just once.

Toyota has been quiet, true. Not as quiet as Nissan though. Noboby and I mean nobody....I don't even think Ghosn knows what Nissan is about to unveil (okay that's obviously not true but I thought it sounded good at the time). The only thing we know is the the G35 will look like its concept. That's it. The rest is rumors, rumors, rumors. The GT-R is supposed to show its face soon. Again we don't know what powerplant will be used. Probably a TTV6 and AWD to stick with Japanese roots. Something around 500hp wouldn't shock me. Plus Nissan likes to be on top of the hp game. So I'm gonna laugh when, as Lexus and BMW out fighting it out, Infiniti sneaks by to the top.

Okay, I'm ready for the critisms.

In all seriousness though, if Lexus is able to stuff a V10 in an IS body and maybe consult Lotus to help with the handling, then more power to them. I'm sure it may be possible. I think there have been one or two aftermarket companies who have stuffed BMW's V10 in the 3 Series. I don't know how it handled though.

Huu76, that is the point. The point that you don't care how your car handles is why you drive (or wish you drove) what you drive. There is a feeling there that is difficult to quantify, but it is absolutly the most important thing, if you enjoy "driving". Lexus engineers go to work on the bullet train, so how could we expect them to engineer cars that have steering feel?
