Has Lexus Pulled Off A Fast One With Pilot Free Driving?

Has Lexus Pulled Off A Fast One With Pilot Free Driving?
To many, Lexus engineering is best represented by careful insulation of the occupants from annoying road input.    After all, who needs that piping hot latte upset by a pothole or curb? Little Carson has dance practice to get to, and you are late.  Those obstacles now become secondary.

With all of the eyes focused on their parent company lately, It appears that the reigns on the Lexus engineers have inadvertently been released, and the end result may shock you.

Don't believe me? Then go no further than the Lexus web site and watch those ever changing backdrops. You will soon witness the IS performing a tire melting burnout without a driver in the seat!

I have to give these guys credit though, they have moved from the mundane task of driverless parking into the far more challenging  realm of driverless drifting when no one else was looking.

Props to the boys over at Lexus, but can ANYONE find that option on the site for me?

FAIL

So, they mastered the art of Photoshopping billowing smoke from the rear wheels. I wonder how hard it would be for them now to Photoshop in drivers behind the wheels of those PARKED cars?

Illusion is all about execution, Lexus Marketing.

I would question the reliability and safety of anything electronic from toyota! Anyways other car companies have been working on this type of thing for years!

lol, it's the perfect car for Chris Harris, he can drift without even doing anything! I guess it's a natural progression from him loving cars that shift for him.

Lexus primarily is a marketing company. Cars are secondary.

And the Toyota fanboys wonder why so many of us think Lexus is lame? Just more proof.

Ah those CLEVER ad men. They took an issue and called it a built in feature! Now I know why they make the big bucks...both of em!

Lexus is just testing our reaction to Toyotas' next problem- cars that drive themselves........

Oh wait, they already do that.

I love the fact that you get paid to scour Lexus' website to try and find something to humiliate them with.

Interesting job you have.

There is no such thing as a "Lexus engineer". They are developed by Toyota and built by Toyota employees at a Toyota plant. And if you think Toyota has problems with drivers that are supposed to be in control of their cars, wait until you just sit there and watch the "Special Toyota" drive by it's self. Mayhem will follow after the lawyers!!!!! This is just dumb.

009, WTF?????? Are you bored or out of news? This is completely dumb....you are confusing Marketing with perfomrance tests....but this is typically what you do...take what you want from a story/news and run with it.....Good job, once again, at making yourself look even "dumber"

I see someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Can't take a joke? Really though, if you are going to post a freaking national ad, make sure you photoshop in a driver.

That's your opinion and as a news source, I find it hard to believe that you are objective about anything related to Toyota/Lexus. While you joke and broadcast your opinion with these idiotic posts that mean abosolutely nothing, so actually rely on Autospies as a "good" source of automotive information.

Does the credibilty of this site mean anything? If so, please remove 009...WOW.

Considering about half the media made fun of the same advertising SNAFU. Then you might be a bit premature in your demand.
