Grannies Vs. Teens: WHO Is Scarier On The Road?
The Auto Insurance reports:

Grannies vs Teens: Who is Scarier on the Road?

You’ve seen them . . . reckless teen drivers who are on their cell phones and shooting past other cars on the highway, having no respect for others on the road.

You have also seen the grannie, hunched over her steering wheel, with the turn signal flashing for miles on end while going 20 miles under the speed limit.

It has been said that both types of drivers are dangerous on the road.  In fact, there has been talk in some states of raising the minimum driving age to 18.  There has also been talk about requiring those over a certain age to take a driving test every year.  While it may not be true for everyone, it can certainly be said that many individuals in both groups are less than ideal drivers.

But who is scarier on the road?  Who poses the most threat to those who drive along side them?  The answer may not be that clear.

The Age of Citizens in the United States

Some states allow those 15 years and older to hold a learner’s permit.  Many times, by the time those citizens are 16 years old, they are eligible to obtain a driver’s license.  There are a little more than 20 million 15 year olds in the US, and a few more 20 year olds....

Teens because the Kids nowday don't have respect for people around them on the road. Driving, talking, texting and eating at the same time. The Grannie just usually drive Super Slow or drive to close to divider lane and that it.

Old people are worse by far. As I have had close calls with only one teenager and the rest that should be confined in a retirement home.

Teenagers think they are invincable. They also have cellphones permanently glued to their hands these days. They also think speeding is funny. I know I could go on so I will stop here and just say there are too many negatives against the teen drivers that I can think of versus older drivers. (IMO)

OK, what about this one? Trannies versus greens? I'd say greens, they're always driving too slowly when they're hyper-miling. Trannies look like women, but, thankfully, don't drive like them.

greens hate accelerating or braking when changing lanes "most of the times"

I would rather have to go around an elderly driver going too slow, than have to dodge some little teen idiot drinking starbucks and texting and giggling with other idiot teen passengers, while going too fast and steering with a knee.

There's a REASON they're called idiots and lunatics in the law code.

That first plot is misleading... look at the age ranges... 6 years, 4 years, 10 years, 10 years, 10 years, 5 years. It should be a bit more polarized.

Also, the age plot in the top right hand corner is also misleading, it should show the numbers of drivers by age. Again it will show how bad both ends of the spectrum are.

Grannies. Scary. I know what the kid will do (go fast into any open space).

What about women drivers and their SUV. I think there to worst of them all. They have not respect period. As for Grannies, i think there should be an age limit . I would say around 70 years old after that you shouldn't have a license. Also, instead of 18 it should be 21 to get your license. 18 should be for provisional.

Agent00R on a blog site. Now THAT's scary :-(

How I yearn for the days when Autospies delivered substance, day in, day out, and weren't inciting flame-wars, or posting stories about snow plows.

Grannies are annoying and responsible for some fender benders, teens are dangerous and are more likely to be involved in fatal accidents than any other age groups, stats are there to prove it.

Grannies are the worst. They hit the gas instead of the brake, drive WAY to slow, I could keep going. Teens may drive fast and be reckless sometimes, but let them plow into a barrier and kill themselves. Darwin can work wonders sometimes.
