Honda isn’t going to replace the Ridgeline pickup, sources say
The current Ridgeline unibody pickup will end its lifecycle sometime in 2012 but sources say that Honda isn’t likely to replace it. When the truck went on sale in 2005, Honda had expected to sell 50,000 units of this 2006 model each year.

But in 2009, only 16,464 units were sold. The midsize, unibody Ridgeline was the first pickup to have all-wheel drive and the appearance of a slab-sided lunar-lander. Instead of conventional leaf springs, the pickup had an independent rear suspension, which resulted to a very comfortable ride as well as provided sufficient room for an in-bed lockable trunk — the first in a pickup.

Honda built the Ridgeline for "The people that hate trucks", guess they found out that the people that hate trucks don't buy trucks.

Maybe they should have tried redesigning the thing

No loss for the market. It was an attempt to enter the market with a very ill equipped model.

It simply wasn't good enough to do much of anything but carry a few sheets of plywood home from Home Depot.

Did you just say superior and Ridgeline in the same sentence? Wow.

Anyways, moving along. The Ridgeline was a fail regardless of what it offered. It was a Honda Truck and so people flocked to it. But lack of updating, redesign, engine options (read no V8 or Turbo 6 option), actually why Honda has not come out with a turbo 4 or 6 is beyond me. They spent so much time on V8 development and left it to die that they are behind. Many others have turbo 4 and now bi-turbo 6's, I guess that is another story.

The Ridgeline needs to die, too bad they didn't redesign the S2000.

Honda should have made it pretty and did this thing called ADVERTISING and given it the 300hp V6 from the Acura's.
