Should States Be Liable For Pot Hole Damage?

Should States Be Liable For Pot Hole Damage?
Julio Zacks was one lucky guy last year.

He was the sole person in 2009 to be reimbursed by the State of Michigan for damage to his vehicle from a road crater on a state highway, according to documents obtained by the Free Press.

"That's unbelievable, considering this time of year the amount of potholes that surface and the amount of traffic," Zacks said when told in an interview last week of his good fortune -- if that's what it can be called.

States? No. Counties or cities? Yes.

Didn't Obama want to rebuild the roads but got knocked down by the Republicans. America is starting to look like a 3rd world country with out crumbling roads, old airports, and slow diesel trains. That's what happens when you give everything to the rich.

Actually the states with the well established and thus larger assistance programs are the worst off. We still have a surplus in Texas, but we also have a relatively low amount of people on governmental assistance.

Teach people to support themselves and you can afford to have the rich and state funding as well.

"Teach people to support themselves"

- It isn't that easy. The people who are receiving government assistance are exactly where the GOV't wants them to be.

And how can you blame the road conditions on people getting public assistance? If that's the case you can also blame the road conditions on medicaid recepients and anyone else who else who gets GOV't aid (Social Security). I'm tired of people blaming the destuction of the US economy on the poor. It was the rich people that messed it up, not the welfare cases.

Yea thats it LexSucks, The Republicans are in the minority and really dont have a say-so on anything. Obamas turning the US into a third world country all by himself and the help of his far left bafoons in congress. This is what happens when the liberals/progressives/or whatever the he** they want to be called are in charge. Conservative policies are the reason Texas is in good shape. Liberalism is whats killing California.

The correct spelling is Buffoon not Bafoon.

What do you consider the Trillions spent on the Military Industrial Companies ?

You do know that is TAXPAYERS MONEY that is wasted on Million Dollar Bombs that every few years a WAR has to be started to justify the Manufacture and Deployment of said Weapons ?

Those Companies and their Shareholders are Heavily Assisted......Correction, they are kept IN BUSINESS by Government Assistance with Taxpayers Money.

Funny how Universal Healthcare is considered by Republicans to be Too Expensive but the Hundreds of Billions Wasted on War Technology is Considered Essential.

For the sake of safety: yes
Because the government has been complaining about brake dust and shredded wheel weights, especially those resulting from traction control and abs: yes
I can go on forever... I mean, I'm pretty sure I won't complain when the government uses my money to clean up the roads.

Yeah, you can blame the on-purpose shoddy construction so that workers will always have work to do and make more money. Seems strange that the same groups always win those contracts.

Without a doubt, my tax dollars are taken and I expect to be able to drive without incurring damage to my vehicle from state- assumingly- maintained roads

Whatever entity per state that collect the respective tax dollars is responsible. But remember, Obama will take those tax dollars to help pay for his Obamacare crap so don't expect our road to get fixed anytime soon.

Again with the BS

Did you Clowns ever wonder how the USA survived the clinton years without getting into any major Conflicts ?

Guess what happened as a result of those years with no conflicts ?..... The Defence Budget was SLASHED.
Guess who it Pissed Off ?...... Republicans with Serious Money Invested in Military Industrial Companies.

In comes George W Bush in 2001 {A Republican}

What Happens within 9 Months of his Inauguration ?

An Event that would Ensure that the Military Industrial Companies of the USA would be GUARANTEED HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF TAXPAYER MONEY for the next 10 years at the very Least.

Just like with CIA secrets finally being revealed albeit 50 years after their Evil Deeds, At some point in the future the Truth about Sep 11 will be revealed.

Until then, Bask in your Ignorance.

We were brought into Vietnam by a Democrat and I agree it was BS. During the Clinton Years, Congress was controlled by Republicans and he could not get away with his liberal crap and moved more to the center. The result of the Clinton years was 911 !! And for BH, 2010 is already scary.
