STUD or DUD: Is Buick's Compact Excelle A Botched Attempt?

STUD or DUD: Is Buick's Compact Excelle A Botched Attempt?
Carscoop reports:

New photos of the upcoming Chinese / North American market baby Buick have surfaced in China (courtesy of Autohome), and it doesn't look too bad. The small, 2010 Opel Astra-based sedan will be a fitting bookend to what may become the most attractive Buick lineup ever.

The worst view by far has to be the red profile shot (anyone else think it looks like a Neon?) with the car sporting a very un-sporty wing. Let's hope that doesn't make it over to the states. Same goes for the gaudy chrome eyebrows over the tail lamps...

Buick is stepping their game up a lot. I sat in a few of the new Buick's at the NY auto show and they are beautiful. Now all they need to do is come out with a smaller car with some nice performance to back it up. One that is preferably turbo and mod friendly. Get some of the younger crowd involved and you will have a hit. Just look at the last SRT-4.

Its to econo. Just take a look at the rear half. Definitely see some Ford Focus right there. The front is pretty good though.

It's alright. If you take out the rear chrome piece it reminds me of an E-Class. You'll need a higher spec (like most domestic brands) to look competitive in the luxury market.

It's a nice looking car but I agree with the writer, I'm not feeling the tail end at all. There is hope because with a simple trunk change the US model could easily correct what's wrong. Let's wait and see.
