The 15 Greatest BRITISH Sports Cars Of ALL Time, Or Are They?

The 15 Greatest BRITISH Sports Cars Of ALL Time, Or Are They?
**Thanks for the tip, cjones!

When I think of the best British vehicles, I think of two nameplates immediately:

1) Jaguar
2) Aston Martin

But beyond those two icons, there are countless others. So many that a gent decided to created a list of 15 of the greatest British sports cars.

Do you concur with his findings or do you think this list is misarranged?

Breakdown Cover reports:

With almost all of the British car manufacturing know-how now under foreign ownership, we thought we’d take a trip down memory lane and revisit those classic British motors that helped put the Great in Great Britain.

Have we missed your favourite? Let us know in the comments!

I take it the elise is the only great modern british car? Hmmm... I like british cars... but my top 15 list would have more modern cars and relatively few of those classics.

Remember, we're talking of ALL time.

That XK120 should be swapped with the E-type, IMHO.

Great list -- all of them are classics. I particuarly love the Aston DB5 and the Jensen. On a sidenote, a guy at my club has a yellow Morgan Plus 8. It sounds great.

I guess this list was more the greatest classic sports cars of all time. There should have been some modern sports cars on there if they were truly doing "the best of all time" list. As the modern British sports cars have made great strides in areas some of the classics failed at.

The XKE should be on there for sure, the 120 is sweet though

The spies are really losing it. Fine, Jaguar and Aston Martin are great cars but what about Bentley and Rolls Royce. They make decently fast 2door coupes (note the pun with 4 door coupes). Not sporty enough? What about the McLarens & Lotuses and then the best track cars in the world such as the Caparo T1s, the Barabus, Ultima GTR etc?? Why do people still consider Range Rovers to be the best off roaders in the world with an interior second only to a Roller?

I owned a Triumph Spitfire and a TR-6. I'd take the TR-6 anyday over the Spitfire.

My vote goes to the Triumph TR6 - euro version(more power) Is the Jenson really a sports car? Kudos to the Brits for their choice of powerplants...

Yup. There should be a TR in there somewhere, 4,5 or 6. Take out the Roller.

I used to drool over a Jensen Interceptor that I passed every day walking to school. What a great car but probably not worthy of this list.

For sure, a McLaren F1 has to be on this list. Redefined the supercar era..
