European version of the Lexus GS will be hybrid only
According to our sources from Lexus, it appears that the petrol versions of the GS range the GS 300 and GS 460 will no longer be produced and the customers who want one will have to choose the remaining GS 450h. This decision came after Lexus registered poor sales of the petrol versions of the GS. For those who don’t know, the Lexus GS 450h is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine but also by an electric motor and has a total output of 345 hp.

Probably because the Hybrid accounts for more than 2/3 of all GS sales in the UK.

People Buying them did because they are excluded from the Congestion Charge and Have Lower Road Tax Rates.

Yep, the Hybrid is the only version that has a chance against the German's and XF's out there. Petrol versions aren't won over by a Lexus over there.

I thought we established that Lexus is going hybrid only in Europe (except for maybe diesel)

The GS is looking way old now and I think it should be cancelled along with the GX. It is no longer relevant in any market, hybrid or otherwise.

Lexus needs to get it's act together. All their cars have cheap looking interiors in comparison to other luxury brands. Toyota needs to stop cutting costs at the expense of quality materials.
