Bmw relying on the X1 and 5-Series to keep sales stable
BMW AG is relying on new models, including the BMW X1 and 5-Series, to shield it against a sudden drop in car sales in Germany — its top global sales market.

In a recent interview, BMW sales boss Ian Robertson said that this year, there will be more new products. He stated further that there is a product momentum as BMW ‘s X1, which was released last November, is currently outselling its objectives. He also talked about the 5 series which will be arriving soon. The market will also see the entry of the [Mini] Countryman and the [BMW] X3 at the end of the year.

Let me get this straight - BMW is coming out with new products AND it is going to sell them? Mind blowing news.

They need to bring those diesel engines over to the US right now.

remember how we used to hate diesels, or was that just me?
I don't like these new clean diesels. They require maintenance from the dealer to keep running (think of a vacuum cleaner), and if we dare to try things out ourselves, we risk losing our warranty (I assume). Also, they're not that efficient when compared to recent, comparative luxury hybrids.

The reason why the 335d didn't sell well here in the US is because of the Ad Blu nonsense. BMW needs to bring a diesel over where we will not be troubled by having to worry about the Ad Blu. Now if that means they can only bring over the 177 hp diesel instead of the twin-turbo 204 hp one that is just FINE. And it will sell extremely well if priced right.
