2010 Kia Forte gets the ‘Top Safety Pick’ award
The 2010 Kia Forte gets the Top Safety Pick award – the third model from Hyundai/Kia to receive the coveted award in 2010. The other winners are Kia Soul and Hyundai Sonata.

Cars that are considered for the award are those that earn the top rating of good for front, side, rollover, and rear impact protection. These cars also need to have electronic stability control (ESC). This feature comes standard on the Forte. The Forte is a new small car launched for the 2010 model year, replacing the Kia Spectra. The Spectra had gotten an acceptable rating for frontal crash protection and only marginal for side crash protection.

Unfortunately in order to facilitate is Civic Si-esque demeanor it needs a turbo.

I actually see better execution in the Forte than the Honda...I'm hoping they'll build a wagon that will replace my trusty Legacy.

The Kia Fortes performance may not be up to par with others in its class, but it is only its first year in production, and if Kia has showed me anything it is that they know how to improve things. Look at the Sprotage perception now to what it was 3 years ago. The Kia Forte is actually one of the best selling preowned cars on our Kia Elizabethtown used cars lot. We can hardly keep them on the lot. You can check them out at http://www.kiastoreetown.com
