Beijing Auto Show: 2011 Hyundai Verna a.k.a new Accent
At the Beijing Auto Show, Hyundai Motor Co. displayed the Verna a.k.a. the successor to its Accent entry sedan. This model features a sloping roof, distinct character lines and Hyundai’s own new generation Gamma gasoline engine with multiport fuel injection.

Hyundai developed this car specifically for the Chinese market. It is slated to go on sale as the Verna later this year. Spokesman Oles Gadacz said that the US market will get a modified version of this car; however, he declined to provide a timeline for the launch. What’s definite is that the subcompact will be redesigned for the 2011 or 2012 model year. Powering the Chinese version is either a 1.4- or 1.6-liter engine. The model is offered with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

This cars design seems a bit too busy for its size.

Hyundai has been using the name Verna for many years since the first gen accent was introduced back in the 90's, in mexico, europe, china, and korea the hyundai accent has always been called the Hyundai Verna, so verna is nothing new. the US version will still be called Accent.
Toyota would not have called its venza "Venza" if the accent was sold as the verna in the USA.
For those that don't know, that front end of the new accent will be different in the USA, The chinese always gets a different style than the rest of the world. the USA engine will most likely be their new 1.6L GDI making 140hp and 40mpg.
