Nissan’s LEAF EV fetches 6,635 orders in just 3 days in the U.S.
In the first three days after Nissan North America Inc. offered the all-electric Leaf online, a total of 6,635 customer reservations have been taken. The Leaf is Nissan’s attempt at mass marketing an electric family sedan globally.

On April 20, Nissan’s consumer Web site, www.nissanusa.com, started allowing interested consumers to put in early reservations by putting down a refundable $99 reservation fee. Nissan spokeswoman Katherine Zachary said 6,635 reservations were received as of Friday morning. But there were some glitches in the online reservation system.

Yeah, with a $99 refundable fee, of course... ask the for a $500-1000 non-refundable deposit and that number goes down significantly...
