Entry-level 2010 Porsche Panamera V6 priced at $74,400
Porsche’s 300hp V6 Panamera and Panamera 4 are currently on display at the Beijing Auto Show. It can be recalled that in 2009, Porsche debuted its historic Panamera S, 4S and Turbo in nearby Shanghai.

In June 2010, US Porsche dealerships will be offering the Panamera with an MSRP of $74,400 and the Panamera 4 an MSRP of $78,900 (excluding destination). A 3.6-liter V6 with Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) equips both new entry level Gran Turismos, generating 300hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. This all-new Porsche engine is built on the same line as the normally aspirated and twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 engines powering the Panamera S, 4S and Turbo.

LOL what a timely article Porsche just recalled every Panamera due to faulty seatbelt tensioners.

Okay...here's where you get to have fun with the rating or "boost" system. By raising or lowering my rating..."How many people feel that a 300 bhp Panamera is not very appealing...considering it's design and performance?" A Positive is appealing...a negative is not appealing. Since I can't de-boost myself...consider the "1" score as base.

Note...this is not scientific and I expect to get the most de-boost I've ever gotten...and if my score stays at or near positive...then I guess more people prefer this car than I could ever have imagined lol!

Well of course, power is good, so more power is even better. The real question will be whether the product *sells*. If there are a significant number of people who buy this "entry level" product, in spite of preferring (but not buying) the more powerful version, then it will be successful.

Count me as one vote for "300 hp is enough for me, even though I like the idea of more."

I have driven the 400hp Panamera S and i have to say that given the Weight of this vehicle, it would be nice to have no fewer than 400 horses pulling it.

However the Handling of the vehicle means you can have a lot of fun just Hustling it around at low speeds.

Given the Choice i would take the S or Turbo always however i do understand that the most sales will come from V6 buyers so good luck to Porsche.

Need4speed I see your point but I am on the fence with the HP amount maybe 325 will get my vote, but dont forget prestige is a big selling point for Porsche custo's.

The performance will be completely sufficient, if not amazing (for a V6). There's really no need to slam the V6 Panamera. If someone wants more power in their Panamera, guess what? There's the Panamera S and Turbo. Period.

sufficient???? lol Its sad that its ok to even use a word like that on a $75,000 sports sedan the sheer fact you used it backs my thoughts that this is way overpriced. 300hp is enough horsepower by far but its performance times have been estimated at almost 7 seconds??? A 6 cylinder is fine in this class but not for that money with "sufficient" performance. The CLS, 6 series, and 7 series with 6 cylinder powerplants are still quick cars the new 7 turbo 6 is as fast as the previous generation 320hp V8 and more efficient. a 7 second 0-60 Porsche sports sedan that costs 75,000 is rediculous....

Even if they did, so what ?

Nobody with an IQ rating above 10 would listen to those Retards anyway.

a Porsche V6? So your saying this is a brand new engine developed by Porsche COMPLETELY unrelated to any engine produced by VW, or share with VW product are you sure about that?

In Europe, a 300hp V6 is plenty of power... In the US, they have this "mine is bigger than yours" mentality, so people will have it in their mind that only the "wanna-bes" will buy the V6...

There was a reason why the S-Class phased out the S350... people in the US want to buy a large sedan in a V8... they've been doing it since the 60s, so it's what they're used to.

Not a mins is bigger than yours mentality in the US if that was the case no one would by a Prius. The fact is if we buy a car like this we want fun and excitement and 300 HP can now be found in family sedans at almost have this price. Se Ford Tuarus SHO for details.

People buy a Prius for the mine is bigger than yours mentality absolutely... my car has more gas mileage, is more green, and is more recognized by activists and a step in the right direction for auto manufacturers... If there was a mass produced vehicle on the market with better gas mileage, every celebrity would have that one too

If I still had the income I had in 2007, that would be my next car!

Go Porsche! Nice ride for $74,000 to start. Beats a Special Toyota, Nissan or Honda. If 300-hp is not enough, I am sure a sales associate will be happy to show you a Panamera S or 4S. It will cost you more but you can buy more or less of something, but you cannot not buy more for less!
