Audi TT before BMW 6 series ? Audi TT even on the list? I personally think that the BMW 5 series deserves it's slot.

I don't believe the 5 series, Audi TT and, Elise should be on the list either. Although, this is all purely subjective. Personally, I don't think the Veyron is sexy at all. However, when it cost $1 mil. plus, I guess it can fit into whatever category it wants (other than price). The think the whole Aston Martin lineup is downright gorgeous so it's fitting to see the V8 Vantage at the top.

No Japanese make cracked the top ten so there is no reason to pick on Infiniti here. In fact, I don't even know why you brought that up?

This top ten ranking list cars that are $45,000 and over save for the Audi TT. Five of them are exotics (Elise debatable). The two Astons (epitome of sexy), the Gallardo, the Veyron, and the Elise are all absolutely outstanding and shocking when it comes to design. The CLS is somewhat "groundbreaking" in flowing european design and I like that alot. The Alfa has classic italian design which never gets old. The Gallardo is a marriage of German engineering/design and Italian design which sears your eyeballs when you see it in person (and that exhaust note!). The 6 Series, in my opinion is the only BMW that belongs anywhere near the top ten. The Audi TT reminds me way too much of the Volkswagen Beetle. Go on, tell me I'm smoking something. When I think bold, aggressive styling, a vehicle that makes a statement; For me, the TT just ain't it. Infiniti doesn't belong in the top ten either. Neither does Lexus, Acura, Audi, and a host of others.

Get my point? Exotic machines usually take home the design awards.

"Brave By Design" is just a marketing campaign. Of course Infiniti customers believe that Infiniti has some of the better looking vehicles on the road. They wouldn't own one otherwise.

They forgot the Mercedes SL. Also, I agree with the F-430. And the Super America 575.

You make a very solid point about the timeless designs of European design. In the next 20 to thirty years these designs with be "retro" and you'll probably see a comeback. Much like the the current Mustang, Charger, 300 etc..

Even though I don't like Bangle design, I have to say that this upcoming Z4 and M Coupe are looking great. I might have to test drive one.

Unlike u who fixed all the cars (designs) of the world in a small top 10 list.

But i have an idea,why don't u make a top ten list for the best design manufacture.

I like what you've done the the design top ten by manufacture. This takes a look at brands and their products lines as a whole. I also like the ranking that you have. I however might change a few.

1. Aston Martin (those curves...can't get enough)
2. Lamborghini
3. Ferrari
4. Mercedes-Benz
5. BMW
6. Porsche
7. Infiniti
8. Audi
9. Lexus
10. Alfa Romeo

So what do the Japanese car guys have to say about this? Apparently Euro still have the looks and maybe the US will have one up there someday.

G35 COUPE???

Everyone has raised some valid arguments as far as this list goes, but I definitely have my own in mind and im surprised some of the ones Ive thought of have made the list. I do agree with several of the Autospies list, so where i disagree I have noted it as such.
1st: Aston Martin V8 Vantage
2nd: Mercedes CLS
3rd: Aston Martin DB9
4th: NOT BUGATTI - 2007 Jaguar XK (gorgeous, just as the adds say)
5th: Lamborghini Gallardo
6th: NOT 5 SERIES - Mercedes E55 Wagon
7th: Audi TT
8th: Audi A6
9th: BMW 6-Series
10th: DEFINITELY NOT LOTUS - Id put BMW 5 series here.

I believe that when Porche actually introduces the Panorama, it will replace the CLS as the sexiest of the '4 door coupes'. CLS is still the standard of which all will be measured for now. Not all of you will agree with Audi A6 or the MB E55 Wagon, but I don't think there is a more stylish luxury sedan than Audi's A6. I love everything about the car. and the E55 Wagon is bar-none the world's sexiest wagon (yes, wagons can be sexy.) Its fast, its luxurious, and its what makes MB a winner in my book. I still can't believe the new Jag XK didnt make it onto the official list.

I like your selection for the XK there. Definitely a car (and a car company for that matter) that is looked over. That car is very appealing to the eye. It's too bad that Jaguar has been so conservative with their lineup. I think the new S-type will change all of that.

As an Infiniti enthusiast, yes I believe the G35 is high up on the list just not in the top ten. Some critics have gone so far as to call the G35 Coupe the best styled car this side of an exotic. I think that's pushing it. We'll see what 2007-2008 brings for the coupe.

You are entitled to your opinion, but Saab? Eh, who knows maybe GM will put out some interesting cars like the Saab Aero X Concept.

Interesting list especially with the NSX and Testarrosa at the top. I think the upcoming GTR is going to be another one of Nissan's "either you love or hate it" type designs. I like the Lambo Countach in at 7.

I think each of the Aston cars should be lumped under one category. They are all gorgeous. The Vanquish doesn't let down in the design department at all. The crazy thing is that most people agree that at least one of the three Aston's belongs on the top ten list.

You're right, there aren't any coupes that come close to G35 design and price wise. I can't argue with that. You could even put the FX in there in the SUV category. There is no SUV that turn more heads and gets more questions than the FX (and that will include the upcoming Q7). I guess if you getting those in Lamborghinis turning heads that should say something. I'm just not so sure that either Infiniti belongs on the top ten list. There are so many candidates. Top 20? Yeah, no problem. Each person has their own opinion and it's nice to see Infinitis on some lists. Infiniti means to conquer design and they are off to a good start.

When I lived in MD (the d.c. metro area) G35 were and still are a dime a dozen so I guess the design quickly wore on me. Which is partially why I didn't consider it a top ten nominee. I was going for rare and sexy.

I went to NAIAS and saw the coupe concept. The pictures don't do this car any justice. It's just crazy good and 90% of that concept will go into production. So, I can see the G35 Coupe squarely sitting in the top ten in the upcoming years.

I don't know about the order of these...but hey.

1st: Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Definitely gorgeous. The long hood on a small body makes it look aggressive but all of the appointments are sculpted so beautifully...this car is definitly a looker.

2nd: Mercedes CLS
This is really the only Mercedes I like as far as looks go...aside from the CL. Everything looks so sharp and I think the styling's great.

3rd: Aston Martin DB9
I don't like the DB9 as much as the DB7. It has a nice profile and lovely body lines...but the back end looks cheap and that throws the whole thing off for me.

4th: Bugatti Veyron
This is a beautiful car...right from the Bugatti grille up front to the massive air intakes in the back. Everything about this car looks expensive and high class...but then again, I don't know if it's just the million dollar price tag that has my view biased.

5th: Lamborghini Gallardo
The baby Murcielago looks too cool. Thought I still prefer its big brother...this is definetly a car that'll draw attention. It looks especially good in white.

6th: BMW 5 Series
Car Design News people are on crack. I think this car looks disgusting, and it's hard for me to see how people like it.

7th: Audi TT
There's something oddly attractive about this car. It's like a cooler looking version of the Beetle. I like it...I don't know what it is but hey, it looks nice to me.

8th: Alfa Romeo Brera
I can say all Alfa Romeos look good. The concept car was gorgeous and I'm surprised that they kicked it into production. I thought there were stories that they wouldn't? Either way...this one has some great show-car flash.

9th: BMW 6-Series
I'm not the biggest fan of some parts of its styling...like the headlights and the grille. I do like its profile though, and it looks very good from certain angles. I think this is one of Bangle's better ones.

10th: Lotus Elise
The Elise reminds me of a frog in a way...but it doesn't look terrible. It's always cool to see one on the road but I still think there are cars that really make me say "Wow". Not to say this is ugly or anything...just not as spectacular as one may expect.
