I know this doesn't sound like but isn't that to much power? Seriously who needs that much power in 6000 lbs of SUV?

525BHP would be nice and SRT8 is already a great value. There are so many of these here in Middle East.

Need to start working on the wife. This would be a sensible replacement for the scoob.

We keep reading about the new Grand Cherokee being high on quality, and we've heard that in the past years about other American cars. My thoughts on this would be, it will be the same crap that's replacing...

I like the fact that it will be faster than the X5M. I'd rather have the Jeep anyways, it's got killer looks. And that sound!

SRT8 sounds good and looks a mean but this is for people who want power in an SUV but can't afford the premium ML63's, X5-M, Porsche Cayenne Turbo's. You can only compare the performance but not the quality or price.

For power it's good value. For quality .. what quality? With that said the Street & Racing Technology is the only thing that can save this slowly sinking ship we call the Chrysler Group.

"A slowly sinking ship" It's obvious 63 your not paying attention. I would take the Jeep anyday over the Overpriced so called Premium brands. And I'm definately not alone. I6 you are correct, The 6.4 will be in the challenger SRT-8 but nothing has been said about the weight yet.

i live in a $800k house and can afford pretty much anything i want. I sold my 02 M3 and got rid of my 02 745 because the quality was sub par! I now own an 08 SRT-8 GC. I've had it for 2 years, 24,000 miles. Its never been in the shop for anything but an oil change.

I can agree that the leather in the Bimmer was nicer and the handling at the margin was crisper. But at $48k fully loader (heater front and rear seats, back up camera, rear and in dash DVD, touch screen navigation, etc) and not to mention 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, no other SUV on the market can compare to the SRT-8 GC. Only the pricks who care about the prestige of driving a porsche, MB or Bimmer would disagree. I was like you when I was in my late 20's. Now I know better.

"According to a report by Car & Driver, Jeep is attempting to best the X5M’s performance figures, which means a 0-60 time of 4.0 seconds or less."

One has to wonder why and since when is straight line acceleration the sole factor for determining improved performance?
