The Billboard Wars In Chronological Order - Your Move, Audi
Auto In The News reports:
BMW and Audi are two German rivals that have always been fond of taking shots at each other – that’s nothing new. But this rivalry has spawned a new battle where creativity and ad budgets are the weapons.
It all started with a billboard in Los Angeles, CA. This seemingly innocent ad along Santa Monica Blvd. started a steady game of advertising one-upmanship that has included different media, and has even spread around the world...

Audi started the chess reference with "Your move, BMW" and promptly got put in their place with a witty and accurate reply by BMW. A year later Audi shows back up with this weak reply?
All of their ads seam to have a common theme: Placing their name in close proximity to BMW's. Very weak indeed.

No, you don't have your timeline right..Audi did the first ad..BMW responded within days, Audi responded with the R8 ad in about a week or so. Then..nothing billboard wise until the BMW ad over the dealership.

Funny how the Idiot comment gets the most votes.
Never mind the fact that his statement's Timeline is Totally Inaccurate.

I first thought this is stupid and childish of BMW and especially Audi but now this is looking funny. Waiting for Audi's reply.

The more they do this. The less appealing both companies become.

I95SPEEDINGTICKETS,
You shouldn't have to chop off some one else’s legs to make yourself look taller. Instead of highlighting their own vehicle’s merits, they chose to knock the other brand. It makes both companies look weak and insecure (funny or not).
Instead of wasting money on stuff that doesn't matter, maybe they should put that money towards lowering their car prices.

I remember a similar article like this one. Was it BMW that was saying "Youre move" and Audi said "Checkmate"? Pretty funny.
