Vw Golf Blue-e-Motion Concept revealed

You already know that the Vw Golf will be the first electric car from the German manufacturer, as we revealed it already few weeks ago. The new car is set to make its debut in 2013, but today Volkswagen unveiled the Golf Blue-e-Motion Concept, a preview of the upcoming electric car.

The new vehicle carries an electric motor which is integrated in the engine compartment, capable to develop 85 kW / 115 PS and a maximum torque of 270 Nm. The electricity for driving the electric motor is stored in a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 26.5 kilowatt-hours. The maximum range of the new concept car is 150 km, but this depends on the driving style and other factors such as the use of the air conditioning and heating system.
