Japan's Transportation Manager Says U.S. Has Treated Toyota Fairly
U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood met with Japan's top transportation official this afternoon, discussing Toyota Motor Corp.'s recent recalls among other issues.

Japan's transport minister, Seiji Maehara, told reporters in the nation this week that the automaker had been slow in responding to problems. The pair met for an hour, discussing Toyota for about 15 minutes.

Maehara said he and LaHood agreed the Toyota issue should not affect the countries' relationship. Both agreed the safety of drivers was the top priority and vowed that auto safety regulators in both countries should be in close communication going forward.

Maehara said it is important Toyota is treated the same as GM or Chrysler by U.S. regulators, but he said the Transportation Department had treated Toyota "fairly."

Fair treatment?
Why did not they investigate the supplier? (CTS)
Why don't they ask the other automakers who are purchasing CTS pedals?
Toyota is under heavy attack. The institutes and press "surveying" only Toyota products.
I'm keen to know all manufacturers using CTS.
I'm keen to know other vehicles in high speed cornering.
Please report those as well.

The CTS pedals in question were a Toyota design and met up to Toyota's quality control standards, stop blame shifting even little kids aren't allowed to get away with that.

so are you saying Toyota installed parts into their vehicle without checking to see weather they conform to their specifications? That's even worse on Toyota's behalf!

My impression of Badgewhore "Blah, blah, blah, butthurt over Toyota getting what's coming to them, blah, blah, blah."

No offense but seriously dude, GET OVER IT. Toyota had a recall and it was their fault! It happens to every company. The only reason it got so much press is because until then Toyota had everyone convinced that they were perfect.

Honestly this badgewhore guy's comments are so far out, he also gets away with foul languge and racsit comments. How long can this be accepted from a normal member? Im sure he is an agent posting a member justto add gas to the flames on this site.
