Volkswagen unveils bik.e electric bicycle, takes on Lexus
It appears that when car engineers want to have some fun, they create bikes… That’s why you saw the Bmw M bike or the recently revealed Lexus Hybrid bike. The latest manufacturer to enter this club is Volkswagen, with its so-called ‘bik.e electric bicycle’ which was recently unveiled at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show.

The electric bike has a maximum range of 20 km or 12 miles and a top speed of 20 km/h (12 mph). Apparently, the top speed is limited because if this was above 20 km/h, the German law says that the rider has to wear a helmet.

Whats next, a human powered version, lol!
The folks that would ride this to work weigh too much. The folks that could ride this to work already ride a bicycle. Anyone else has too far to go.
