BMWBlog reports:

The folks over at Motor Trend deliver an interesting article today: 30 Who Count: The Good, The Bad, and The Incompetent.

Chris Bangle understands that design is subjective. He chose to focus on provoking emotions rather than trying to earn people’s approval on beauty. Though I personally have not been a fan of his design, I do applaud him for his courage & vision.

That's why I want him back. His designs weren't actually that crazy when one compares his craziest concepts to other manufacturer's, but he was willing to push forward a conservative company and help it earn more money than it could possibly imagine and finally get automotive design moving. Boy, I remember the days when people thought the best looking, next-generation cars had to be round spheres.

I have to say I like Bangle design , but bad luck is beside him now as I can see wow... the new generation BMW cars is great but to much conservative for me I would like something more agressive and is true that people always was waiting for that on the new 7 and new 5 series.

Just look at the design cues Bangle made that were then adopted by many other automakers. Almost everyone has taken a page from Bangle's book.
