First photo: Porsche developing Freelander/FX competitor?

Porsche is a company known for sports cars. Exotic sports cars to be exact. Them having to make the Cayenne brought questions to myself asking why they even bothered to enter the SUV segment. Stick with what they're good at and not change a thing. First they created a jacked up looking 911 now their making a FX competitor? It'll most likely be overpriced and not affordable as the FX or Freelander. It might be a lame excuse to own a Porsche but it won't be a true porsche unless you own the 'cars'.

But the Cayanne is the vehicle that helped Porsche develop the Cayman. Porsche sold more Cayannes than any other car in it's division.... and Porsche is one of the few companies to be deep in the black side of the profit margins....they are making money. So why not explore a new venture.... Plus Porsche wants to stay in the game. Like Tha_1 said, "Porsche has to diversify to stay independent". They have been able to buy into Volkswagen (Remember Ferdinand Porsche invented the Volkswagen for Hitler) and now Porsche has aquired a part of its history. And all this is thanks in part to the Cayanne being a sales success.

To Bubba... You don't know what the .... you are talking about. Cayenne is the best SUV there is. You never drove one for more then 2 minutes. Do us a favor and stick to Kia. Leave the Porshe for the real drivers. LOL

The FX a wagon?? lol. I don't agree at all. The only "wagon on steroids" on the market is the Dodge Magnum. It doesn't have the ground clearance of the FX and it actually looks like a wagon.


Back to Porsche...

I agree with some of you above. Porsche should have one SUV and one SUV only. I didn't even like the intro. of the Cayenne, however, it has been a success for Porsche. So don't fix what isn't broken. And in this case don't add anything.
