Calling All Audi R8 Owners, Lovers & Haters Alike, Have You Seen THIS Before?

Over the years we have seen plenty of cars barbecue themselves on the side of motorways. Countless Ferraris and Lamborghinis. For whatever reason, mid-engine exotica just seems to spontaneously combust.

After seeing what was assumed to be the Audi R8 V10 roast itself while testing and now this R8 in the Netherlands, we want to know have you spotted any other char-grilled R8s?

Is this a common occurrence?

We want to know, discuss...

It is something you do not want to see often, a burned down sports car. The matte black Audi R8 V8 shown here was used for a test drive. The car got on fire on the highway A67 near Someren, the Netherlands...

This is bull...The R8 is a VERY reliable car, I drive it in the desert heat of the UAE daily, and it never EVER gave me trouble, and this is the hottest place in the world, and I push the car to the max! The R8 is more reliable than any Ferrari, any Lambo and the 911 turbo's and even the Merc 63's..R8 is the best..

It happened to Boxsters the first year...the air intake is just behind the driver and the first thing a flicked cigarette would hit as it got sucked in was a paper air filter. Oops.

They've just issued a press release about all the burning Lamborghini's and R8's. After much research, they've concluded that the problem is that no one gives a shit about taking a photo of a burning BMW or Lexus. Thus, more R8's and Lamborghini's end up burning on the internet.

Give me a break, people. Thousands of cars of all types break, burn, crash, and what have you for millions of reasons. The things is, no one cares to see a burning Mustang on the front page of Autospies. Just like no one wants to know how many women you've cheated on your wife with, because you aren't Tiger Woods. You're a no body. Just like 99% of other cars.

And no, I've never seen or heard from anyone whose car went ablaze. Other than this one, they've all been test cars as far as I recall.

Fiero was only the 1984 model because they didn't put a rev limiter on them. Long stroke + heavy pistons + weak rods = kaboom.
