Fake Hood Vents Leads To Recall Of 162,000 HUMMER H3s

Hummer says it's recalling all the 2006 through 2010 model year H3 SUVs because a fake hood vent might come loose, fly off and cause who-knows-what kind of trouble.

The fix: Glue it on.

Those of us who think fake vents are an abomination -- Make 'em real or leave 'em off -- see something karmic in the situation.

The problem was they come off and smash through the windshield resulting in irreparable damage to the owner's Armani Exchange sunglasses and Ed Hardy T-shirts, as well as causing countless owners to be late for their spray-tan appoinments.
