China’s first 8-speed automatic transmission unveiled

China’s first 8-speed automatic transmission, developed by Shengrui Transmission Co., Ltd. has been launched to the marke today.

It is China’s first 8-speed automatic transmission, with independent intellectual property rights, and the first FF (Front-engine Front-drive) 8-speed automatic transmission in the world as well.

The automatic transmission, as one of the core automotive powertrain components, is an integration of machinery, electricity, fluid and electronic control and a technology-intensive product, with high added value.

I wonder how durable it is...how long will it last before it goes Kaput? How much torque can it handle? What kind of copying have they done from the Lexus 8 speed and the new ZF unit?

According to some magazines the Lexus 8 speed auto especially the one in IS-F is even better than some Double clutch transmissions.
So i think now almost all manufacturers will be offering 8 speed auto or double clutch soon if not both.

independent intellectual property rights, even if it is his design, and it is even worthy of copying, why should would we respect there copyright law? Do the Chinese respect anyone's copyright laws? I have nothing against the people, but there culture with communism is all about not standing out...Everything is the same, all of there artists just copy the western artists,(they have a town full of artists that just copy) there artists are so talented, but they don't do there own art, sad! When the country abandons the communist ideology of being the same and embraces creativity they will progress.

It took 'em long enough for them to (copy) it. I mean, they came out with an iPhone fake and launched it before Apple lauched the iPhone. And I doubt they actually came up with that tranny on their own.
