The Obama administration today will propose a $536 million environmental cleanup plan for 90 former General Motors sites in 14 states.
A source with knowledge of the plan said Michigan is in line for the largest share: $161 million for the cleanup of 47 seriously polluted sites in the automaker's home state.
Congressional aides briefed on the plan say New York will get $150 million and Ohio $52 million. Indiana and Delaware also stand to receive significant funds under the program, they said.
