BMW Does A Turn Around And Now Says Hybrid 3 and 5 Series Are In The Works

According to Bmw chief executive Norbert Reithofer, the German manufacturer will offer the 5-Series as a full hybrid early next year but it is also considering a hybrid version of the smaller 3-Series.

This move comes due to the fact the Bmw wants to reduce carbon emissions by at least another 25 percent between 2008 and 2020. Bmw’s fleet emissions dropped to 150 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer last year, down from 156g at the end of 2008.

Still, u gotta love the hydrogen 7- a car that literally makes water. I'm still trying to figure out how to hook my Brita up to the exhaust....

What's with the title? How is BMW turning their decision round? I don't recall them ever stating that they wouldn't offer Hybrid versions of these cars, and the article certainly does state anything about them changing their minds either.

Look like BMW is planning to do the same thing that Lexus and Infiniti are doing with their next Lexus IS350 and Infiniti G too, I belief. I know Lexus is planning to make a Lexus IS350 hybrid only from last month article posted up here.

But NOT sure about Infiniti making an all hydrid next generation G sedan and coupe. Anyone has any information on the next Infiniti power trainer using hybrid?
