2011 Bmw 5-Series exceed the carmaker’s sales target
According to the latest reports, it appears that the orders for the 2011 Bmw 5-Series are already exceeding the firm’s sales target. The new 5-Series made its debut in March and it appears that it is the key for Bmw to improve its sales in 2010 to more than 1.3 million cars.

For those who don’t know, Bmw already toppled Mercedes-Benz as the largest luxury-car maker in 2005 and has increased its sales by 27 percent since 2000.

What were their targets based on? Did the improving economy play a part in the brisk sales? I know this posting title wants us to walk down the path named "this is such an amazing car, it has exceeeded everyone's wildest expectation," but I can go there without the relevant data.

That said, it sure looks a LOT better than the gangly outgoing 5. Good riddance to "Flame Surface."

BMW 5 Series

Generation after generation, the best all-round car in the world.. of course it's going to be a massive hit!

I have to confess though, the styling has left me a little cold, although I finally got round to poking around one properly last weekend, and it is growing on me quite a bit.

This is what wrong with Autospies. I like the 5series alot, because it looks like a bigger version of the 3series. I am a infiniti owner, but i will say BMW never puts out a bad looking 3series. here my problem you guys never reported infiniti M numbers from last month.
- Infiniti performance increases 46.2 percent due to launch of M, strength of G lineup -

Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today reported April 2010 sales of 63,769 units versus 47,190 units a year earlier, an increase of 35.1 percent, compared with April 2009. Nissan Division sales rose 33.8 percent for the month, while sales of Infiniti vehicles were 46.2 percent higher than a year before.

It was done on purpose, you really shouldn't be surprised they weren't reported. Infiniti is BMW biggest headache and rival, so of course it wouldn't be posted. Given the choice of either, I am taking the M.

You must live in fairyland if you think Infiniti is BMW's biggest rival. Ever hear of Mercedes-Benz, Audi or Lexus?

That is a fair point but it is ridiculous saying that Infiniti is BMW's biggest rival. You are just talking about the 3 and 5 series. What about the Xs, 1 series, 7 series, 6 series and BMW's M cars? Do you honestly believe that BMW cares more about what Infiniti is developing above Audi or Mercedes?

I agree that Infiniti is ONE of BMW's rivals but in the overall scheme of things, they probably come a very distant 4th or 5th place.

I really love BMW and I think they do make the ultimate driving machine but it looks like the designers stuck a straw into the exhaust of a 3 series and blew really hard to come up with the new 5 series.
