King of the cross overs! The water crossing was an impressive 2 feet deep, not 6 feet deep, How many cross overs can ford a 2 foot deep water crossing? And impressive body rigidity when the passenger opened the door during the off camber event, although for it to be considered an off road champ it will have to have more wheel travel, there is a great example of excess wheel lifting right after the impressive door opening.

I was also wondering! Seemed like 3-4 feet deep.

You are both wrong. It was over 5 feet.

Six Feet?
Porsche website put the height of of Cayenne S at 67.4 inches, with the ride height at max adding appox 2 3/4 more of ground clearance that still puts the hood completely under water and you would have been seeing water lines on the side windows.

"Out of this world off-road preformanc"
Not that I saw in video, I did much, much more intensive off-roading in my Jeep Grand Cherokee while never puttiing it into four-wheel drive, touring Utah's San Rafeal Swell. For the money, I'd rather have a Cayman and Jeep Rubicon Unlimited.

People don't cross shop ML63's, X5M's, Cayenne's with Jeep Grand Cherokee's.

My point was not cross shopping. I don't care for the Cayenne style. Not many aftermarket products for it If you Really want to off road and It's expensive. To me it's more of a "look at me" thing. So as I said " 2011 Jeep Grand C for me". Cool video though.

I thank Lexus and Porsche for continuing to produce luxury SUVs with real offroad capability. At the same time, I'm probably one of the very few who actually likes taking the trucks onto rough terrain and have the exterior taken care of at the car detailing shop the next day. I should really try those protective films...

with that much chassis flex in their load hauling truck, I'd be scared to drive over a rock in any Toyota, lest my chassis should permanently flex and lose its ability to open and close the doors.

oh I do understand harmonic resonance, but apparently toyota doesn't, why would they design their frame to hit resonance and such a low frequency? If it had a stronger chassis resonance wouldn't be an issue because the harmonic frequency would increase to a point where the shocks could absorb the very sudden changes.

hahaha oh invisible, it looks like I put too much confidence in your intelligence, here I was expecting some reasoning why having a chassis hit resonance at about 2hz is acceptable. Not just a temper tantrum style display of name calling.

"Joe, your reply displays your total ignorance in harmonics."
Please do! I'm still awaiting a reason for the 2hz harmonic frequency. You do realize that the less stiff something is, the lower its harmonic frequency right?

to be honest, I didn't use google? I used youtube and these were the first videos I found. Hell I even gave you a fan video of your land cruiser, and in it, it got stuck on a branch hahaha.
Now back to the issue at hand, all these videos are proving my point. What have you done so far to support your argument that Toyota makes capable off road vehicles? So far you've laughed and called me names... haha, and to think I actually expected more than that from you?

Why do I need to, I've provided ample support for my argument. You've provided a funny picture and a video showing that sports tires on sloppy wet grass doesn't work.
Lets summarize.
-Porsche has built a very stiff chassis
-Toyota builds weak chassis with resonant frequencies of ~2hz
-Porsche used locking front rear and center differentials
-Toyota uses limited slip differentials
-This Porsche can drive forward with 1 or two wheels off the ground
-Toyotas get stuck if one wheel doesn't have enough grip
And your argument?
-I'm blinded with hate
-I'm lame
-I'm pathetic
-I'm a hater
-I don't understand physics
-I'm delusional
-I'm more idiotic than you first imagined
-Googling to find material to prove a point is hilarious
-Sports tires don't work on soft/muddy wet grass.

Im pretty sure this new Cayenne is all that and a bag of chips 001, but damn. I would have liked to see some deep mud being tackled and rock crawling, not just a ring around the rosey around a dirt mound. Oh, and I am 5'8". Wouldnt that water have been up past the windows if that Porsche was wading in water over half my total height? I still love this vehicle but Im just saying.
On a side note, when you were on the track with Dave you said Infiniti Q. Were you just that excited about the Porsche and said that by accident? Oh, and you didnt show us the compass thingy at the top of the dash like you promised earlier in the video! :D

The Porsche tires are 29.4 in tall, the depth of the water crossing of a total of 2feet 6 in deep, the water momentarily splashed half way up the hood, remember this vehicle is 5 1/2 feet tall, if it were 6 feet deep it would have been completely underwater, someone obviously did a calculation error in converting into feet deep, nobody is perfect and this is still impressive for a cross over, What is impressive is the fact that it has two selectable lockers, although I will have to say if I am looking to buy something to take moose hunting through the mtns this vehicle would not come to mind as an option, although I would love to own a sports car that can go off road a bit.

I would be more impressed if the water hasn't contaminated the axles or tranny, maybe it didn't? Although it most likely did get contaminated with water, it would cost a few hundred dallars to change the oil after this stunt, assuming that the oil isn't synthetic. I have gotten water contamination on all my 4x4s axles and trannys.
