Maybach 57S Coupe to be build by German company

As you may know, Daimler did not introduce a coupe version of the Maybach, excepting the Exelero one-off custom-built supercar. It seems that things will change this July as a German firm called Xenatec will build a coupe version of the Maybach 57S.

According to the company, only 100 coupe versions of the car will be built, each carrying a 6.0-liter V12 engine capable to deliver an impressive 612 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. The new car is in fact a modified version of the sedan and Xenatec says it will be with 20-inch shorter than the 57S.

The Maybach uses the sturdy and durable W140 chassis for precisely those reasons: sturdy and durable.

I like it I pretty much like every coupe/roadster that Mercedes makes except the SLK. But this is a beautiful coupe but what you see here expect it to be a very similar shape in the next gen mercedes CL line up as they did the maybach and the current Sclass. but just from the looks of it this will be the biggest coupe the world has ever seen IMO....but too bad a coupe is based on size and not how many doors are on a car. I think this car will put a damper on the bentley GT and the Drophead RR but i think between the 3 and people with lots and lots of expendable cash can have a choice now instead of just Bentley or RR. I hope this car becomes reality because the looks of the picture shows that this car can be stunning with minimal effort.

If Toyota can sell 500 sub-par cars based only on exclusivity' I guess MB will have no problem selling these 100 Maybachs...

@MSP6......people in dubai may be dumb in your opinion but they are laughing there aZZ off too the bank everytime you change your oil or put gas in your car while tehy are looking at their BILLON DOLLAR accounts....if you ask me I would love to be one of those rich dummies as you would put it

Mercedes don't need a coupe like this. I mean they've got a wonderful luxury coupe - CL 65 AMG, why they make this?

It should be "built". I know Americans don't really know how to spell but really!

The Maybach has always looked too similar to the Mercedes S class for my liking, they should differentiate the brand IMO.
