BIMMERFEST 2010: If You LOVE BMW's, You'll Be At The Rose Bowl With Us Saturday, May, 22nd

Back in 2003, I made my way for the first time to beautiful Santa Barbara for the Bimmerfest show.

Like MacWorld for BMW's, Bimmerfest is my favorite USA auto show because real customers are their showing their dedication and creativity with whatever BMW they own.

It's typical SoCal...laid back, casual, fun and of course the cars, weather and people are always beautiful.

It has really grown over the years...so much so, that this year it had to move to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

We're looking forward to making the trek there on Saturday and we hope if you can get to the LA area, you'll join us too.

Even if you DON'T own a BMW.

It is GREAT fun and you'll be glad you had the experience.

Who knows, you may even become a convert to the roundel!

Agent 001 will be there early photographing and videoing the show, so if you see a gorgeous Red X6M (Thanks BMW for the loan!), be sure to say hi.

I always love meeting the people who make Auto Spies what it is and am appreciative for all of you.

The X6 is the exotic car of SUVs. Somewhat pointless yet emotionally stirring to both drive and look at.

I loved the X6 since day 1 but alot of you have a point.....whats the purpose of the X6.....there really is no purpose IMO if they have the X5 but to me this is a more sportier looking SAV with a coupe design that provides more looks than a utility vehicle. The X6 is a unique car/truck to bring to the market because now look at Honda/Acura they joined the band wagon trying to compete but if this truck does well in sales in the next 2-3years or so I could see alot more manufacturers hoping on the band wagon. I think the X6 deserves more credit than what people give it....people knock the design and function but what about the mercedes G-class whats that about it is a $100,000 Paul Bunyon Lunch Box on wheels whats the purpose of that thing, they have the GLK, the G, the GL, the R-class, and the M whats the purpose of all of those trucks oh because Mercedes did it.....its all good ....riiiiiiiiiiiight

As an added side note, we test a lot of cars.

The X6 has gotten us more thumbs up, waves, women screaming in ecstasy upon seeing it, kisses thrown at us, Mardi Gras shirts ups than ANY other car we've ever tested at ANY price.

I love the X6 but you would think an R8, Conti convertible or Rolls would do it better and they can't beat the X6 in our non-scientific testing.

Still not a fan of the X6 - - - one of my least favorites from BMW. I’m still not a fan of the X6 - - - one of my least favorites from BMW. I echo many Jeremy Clarkson's comments from the Top Gear review where he used or implied superlatives for the X6 such as too cramped, too complicated, too expensive, poor rear view, rides too rough, doesn't perform in snow, doesn't perform off road, too big, too heavy, useless, etc.
