Bullied Prius Owner Finally Grows A Pair And Ends Up In Jail

The Prius driver, 23-year-old Timothy Hird of Winder, told the officer that people are constantly teasing him about his hybrid Toyota, which runs on both gasoline and battery power.

Hird and another driver, 18-year-old Alejandro Gamboa of Lawrenceville, were both arrested and charged with reckless driving.

The officer stopped them after Gamboa nearly slammed into the police cruiser while trying to pass Hird on a very narrow, curvy stretch of Ga. 211, according to a Braselton police report. Another driver also told the officer that Gamboa and Hird nearly ran him off the road earlier.

Police believe Hird was trying to prove how fast his Prius could go.

"Hird repeatedly told me that people are always harassing him on the road because he drives a Prius," the officer wrote in his report.

Doesn't their judgment come into question upon considering a Prius?

What amazes me about Prius owners is they drive their cars like sports cars thinking they are getting great gas mileage. But we all know, to get good gas mileage, its all about how you drive.

How intimidating can you actually be in a Prius? Maybe if I was in a Mini or a Smart car but thats about it.

Road raging Prius drivers, they sound like they were both raging. The Civic driver couldn't drive if the Prius passed him.

thinking more, this makes too much sense.

Prius driver has a inferiority complex, so he buys a prius to boost his ego by showing he is "saving the world".

People laugh at prius driver for having a slow prius, thus causing the inferiority comlex to arise again.

Prius driver then drives recklessly to try and prove his superiority once again.

Sounds a lot like he's trying to compensate for something...

the pee wee herman pic is priceless! haha
So true though, no self respecting man drives a prius. I laugh at those dorks, what a boring non-inspiring vehicle. I would rather walk than drive a prius.
Once you have driven a real car, then you would never own a prius.
