Very Cayanne like in the rear quarters.... I will have to wait and reserve judgment once all the tarps and disguises are off to say my real opinion...

Looks like a big X3. The destruction of the BMW brand is almost complete, if this is really the new X5. I'm on my 2nd X5, and my 15th BMW, and my current X5 will most probably be my last. Hopefully, one day the BMW board will recall their old advertising slogan "Form Follows Function"....until then, I'll probably be driving a Range Rover Sport.

Coffeeman, you read my thoughts. A cup of java for you! :)

The current generation X5 is the last mass produced BMW that is trully appealing, trully luxurious, trully marvelous at handling, and trully still the best. I miss my "Blue Bavarian" X5 despite all the little quarrels we had.

BMW needs to wake up and realize they are not a Japanese car maker and that there are some of us who do not want a Japanese car.

Let's hope Toddy is right. Pull off the tape and something beautiful will appear. I don't think so.
