SPIED: BMW's All-New 6-Series Drops The Top

SPIED: BMW's All-New 6-Series Drops The Top
Bimmerpost reports:

We bring you the first ever sighting of the upcoming F13 6-series convertible with its top down. The shape revealed with the top down is of a sleek and well proportioned convertible, not easily pulled off with a convertible of this size. What is not telling yet however, is whether the top is a folding hardtop or a traditional canvas top. The extra cut lines on the trunk may indicate a canvas top to some, but may simply be indicative of split trunk access (for when top is retracted).

Release dates and specifics are still up in the air, but its a sure bet that at least the engine line-up will be a replication of what is available on the F10 5-Series, including a twin turbo V8. Rumors still float around to this day about new tri-turbo diesel engine that would make its debut on this car...

Maybe it is uncovered and they are doing the 60's theme on the 6.

Doesn't the nose overhang look unusually long for a BMW? At first glance, this could pass for a Volvo. I bet me saying this pisses off the BMW FanBoiz :-/

Funny.

When i first looked at the pics my first thought was either that driver is quite small or that is a Huge Vehicle.

Why do Manufacturers all think that each Model Replacement must be larger that it's predecessor ?

It is still there.

If you look at the 2nd picture from the last you will see the Slot from which it normally rises is still there Hence my belief that that function remains.

Damn, I miss Chris Bangle's designs.. I was happy with the new 7er, but the smaller 5er looks to much the same, I'm afraid it will look too much like a 5er and 7er coupe at the same time. It will look good but it will be too much conservative from what I expect from an ultimate driving machine.

styling looks boring. Too conservative for my taste

Im probably going to kick myself for saying this later on but I think I miss bangle lol. The more spyshots I see of the 6 series the more letdown I am it almost just looks like a 2 door and a convertible 5 series. The last 6 series wasnt the prettiest car but it certainly didn't look like a 2 door 5 series inside or out it had a completely different look. They can be a little daring in this class why would BMW's "GT" be so conservative. The first gen 6 was elegant and classy but still stood out from the rest of the lineup, I guess ill have to wait and see the final product to decide if the feeling being letdown is true or not.
