Give Us Your Top Ten Overpriced Cars On The Market Today

Are car buyers returning to lots? Some signs point to yes. Last week GM reported its first quarterly profit in three years, pushed in part by increased worldwide sales. Some expect this to continue.

"We're going to see improvement, but it is not going to be as robust a recovery as we had thought at the beginning of the year," says Jesse Toprak, vice president of industry trends and insights at TrueCar.com. "We'll get there, it's just going to take a little bit longer."

Potential buyers getting a head start may want to look beyond domestic cash-back rebates and Toyota's zero-percent-financing offers. That’s because even with incentives like these, some autos are worth less than their sticker price.

You could throw every other german auto manufacturer under that banner as well.

It not like BMW and MB are making cars for cheap.

BMW 3, 5 & 6 series, Audi A4, S4, A5, S5, Toyota LF-A, SAAB (pick one), Infiniti M. I'll cut it short because the list can go on for a while.

Anything Mini makes any German car with only a 4 cylinder engine.

Lexus HS250h, Audi A3, BMW 1-Series, Infiniti M-Series, Chrysler 300C, Cadillac DTS, VW Touareg, Dodge Challenger, Acura ZDX, and BMW X6...

Not to say any one of the listed vehicles are inferior, but I feel they are all priced a little out of their market. I also think most Land Rovers are overpriced, even though you can take them anywhere.

LF-A
Acura RL
Lexus HS250H
Cadillac CTS-V (despite the crazy impressive performance; end of the day it's a domestic nameplate).
Corvette ZR1 (while it's fast and sounds monstrous is it truly double the car of the standard model? - I will let you decide).

Having a domestic nameplate is not a bad thing today considering all of the problems we see with foreign cars this year.

You should not pay retail for any car. DUH!

LFA - Sports car performance with a Super Car Price
Veyron - Heavily lacking in interior aesthetics/features and way overweight
XTS - Luxury corvette without the power to justify the price
HS250h - Expensive prius/corolla that gets luke warm fuel economy.
Any Black Series AMG - impressive power yes, but a harsh ride + no stick = confusing...
Base Audi's - Rebadged VW's
Escalade - Rebadged Tahoe/Yukon

All cars are overpriced.

How can a tin-can Prius cost $22,000?
How can a butt ugly (ugly butt?) X6 cost $75,000?
How can a friggin' Civic cost almost $30,000?
How can a 3-series cost $40,000?

The world has lost its collective mind in regards to value.

The 3-series is in the $50,000's now, and can reach $58k with all the options. And I'm not talking about the convertible.

Agree with thstone

It is better to name good value cars and the ones not on the list will automatically be overpriced cars as there are lot of them. If to pick few, i would say MB and Porsche are quite overpriced especially the higher end models.
