Nissan Sales Remain Strong With A 24.1% Gain In May Sales: Infiniti Up 24.6%
Nissan North America, Inc. today reported May 2010 sales of 83,764 units versus 67,489 units a year earlier, an increase of 24.1 percent, compared with May 2009. Nissan Division sales rose 24.1 percent for the month, while sales of Infiniti vehicles were 24.6 percent higher than a year before.

NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS -- Nissan vehicles posted sales of 75,673 units in May compared with 60,993 units sold in May the previous year, a 24.1 percent increase. -- May marks the Nissan division's eighth consecutive month with a year-over-year sales increase. -- The Rogue crossover set a new May record with 8,789 units sold. -- Passenger cars showed strong performance with Versa sales up 95.6 percent, Sentra up 59.6 percent and Nissan's volume-leading Altima up 19.2 percent to 21,950. "Nissan's model lineup continues to show strength, with Altima, Versa, Sentra and Rogue leading the way," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division. "The value, performance and style of those models are resonating well with consumers and driving our brand."

  INFINITI HIGHLIGHTS
-- Infiniti sales for May 2010 were 8,091 units, up 24.6 percent from the
6,496 units sold in the same month a year earlier.
-- The launch of the 2011 Infiniti M continues to build momentum, with
the model up 61.9 percent over last May.
-- The Infiniti G lineup was up 23.6 percent (sedan sales up 16.9
percent; coupe sales up 43.4 percent).

"The all-new Infiniti M is continuing to gain momentum during its launch," said Ben Poore, vice president, Infiniti Business Unit. "The key is consistent growth in all segments, which reflects Infiniti's ability to attract new buyers into our showrooms."

NOTE: To ensure consistency in global sales reporting, Nissan North America calculates monthly variances on a straight-percentage basis, unadjusted for the number of selling days. Both May 2010 and May 2009 had 26 selling days, so there is no variation between the two calculation methods.

Very impressive Nissan/Infiniti. Looks like the spell is dead. Infiniti out sold both BMW and Audi! Keep up the good work!!

What numbers are you referencing that Infinity outsold BMW & Audi? Percentage of increase month over month? BMW has almost double the sales of Infinity & Audi.

Uh, no. Infiniti didn't outsell either Audi or BMW. BMW outsold Infiniti more than 2-1, and while it was neck and neck wih Audi, Audi sold more and is now ahead of Infiniti in sales YTD.

Remember that better deal also means a lower street value for the car, which actually means a lower resell as well.

so the original poster says something 100% factually incorrect and is at +4, and everyone who corrects the error is at -1. Figures. The wonders of Autospies.

Infiniti numbers will be even better once the Badge engineered G comes out. Will it be bases on Sentra again? That car was a joke.
