Incentive programs helped Lexus widen its lead over Mercedes-Benz in May
Toyota Motor Sales USA reported that the sales of both its Toyota and Lexus brands have increased. For June, Toyota Division will offer 0% financing and subsidized leases, which it has been offering since March.

While Toyota Division will still offer big incentives, Lexus is dropping cut-rate leases. During a sales call, General Manager Mark Templin said that Lexus sold 22,216 vehicles (up by 31%), double the growth of its rivals in the luxury segment. Mercedes-Benz sales rose 23 percent to 18,548 in May and gained 22 percent to 85,405 so far this year, Daimler said.

"May marks the third consecutive month that Toyota sold more retail vehicles than any other brand."

That's just in America. Lexus has zero impact in the rest of the world, and are outsold by everybody.

Why do Americans think that the rest of the world doesn't exist?

It's not like Mercedes isn't incentivizing - they're running crazy cheap leases on the new E-class sedan comparitively speaking.

And yet nobody mentions the great lease deals on the 5 series for the past 3 years?

The leases on the brand new E-class are even lower than the leases you're talking about on the outgoing 5-series, let alone the brand new one. MB is flat giving them away.

I will still take a Mercedes over the Special Toyota/"Lexus" any day. And LexSucks has it correct, don't even get it twisted.

Curious comparison. Toyota was vying for No. 1 volume car mfr in the world and here they are comparing against MB, not known for high volume in any segment.
