Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 officially confirmed by GM exec
The supercharged Camaro Z/28 was ready to be built over a year ago but it was put on hold due to the economic downturn.

But in a report that was released this week, GM’s vice president of global vehicle engineering Karl Stracke confirmed that it has been given the go signal. In a previous report, the Z/28 is claimed to feature a 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V-8 engine, which generates 556hp and 551 pound-feet of torque. This engine, which is also found under the hood of the Cadillac CTS-V, enables the car to go from zero to 60mph in 3.9 seconds. Being about 200 pounds lighter than the luxurious CTS-V gives the Z/28 a speed advantage. Aside from the upgrades in its performance, the Z-28 also has an exterior look that’s more aggressive than the current SS.
