VIDEO: The Hottest Boxster EVER? 001 Gives Us ALL Of The DETAILS On Porsche's Boxster Spyder
001 has done it again. Not only did he shoot a nice gallery of photos featuring the unique 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder, but he has shot some detailed footage of the Spyder.

The key to this is 001 has captured a demonstration of the softtop installation process.

Weighing in at approximately 12 pounds, its top header panel piece is constructed out of carbon fiber monocoque. Not only does it look sexy, it is lightweight and strong.

Watch below as Tim from Porsche puts the top on the Spyder's two-piece softtop.

Featuring lightweight carbon fiber seats, lightweight wheels, no air conditioning and no radio, it is not a car boasting creature comforts. This car is all about the pure roadster experience.

Wow, between this and the new Cayenne Porsche is really turning their game around in my books. This is a super attractive car, too bad it has to remain under the Cayman/911 in terms of power.

Same power as Cayman S. Which is to say it is the same Boxster S/Cayman S engine, but without the -10hp air intake cripple they put in the other Boxsters.

Fantastically-styled car and perfect for the southwest. For everyone else, wish they would have gone with a Miata-style top, possibly with an 'access door' through which you can open/close the top while sitting in the driver's seat. Also, no doubt that no A/C will be a deal-breaker for many. Truly a limited audience for this vehicle, which is unfortunate given its good looks, increased performance and 'reasonable' price.

reasonable price???? lol it has less equipment a manual top, and 10hp all for thousands more than the car its based on that is already pretty expensive. While for 911 c2 money you can have add most of the equipment added back in yet still have no door handles.... sounds logical and reasonable to me...

Anyone with disposable income and a penchant for labor intensive ride prep. And I thought straining myself to grab my '92 Miata's top was a pain in the a**.

What-is this car 61 grand? That's what I thought I read. You "can" add back A/C and a stereo if you need to though. If it is actually the 61 grand equipped as is then it's NOT a bad buy for a Porsche. You know that Porsche is notorious for charging obscene amounts for ANY extra options. A Cayman S reasonably optioned out is in the high 70's to low 80's. (See latest Car and Driver Comparison test between the Cayman S,Lotus Evora and Chevy Corvette). So assuming Porsche does not charge more then a couple of grand for the A/C and a grand for a simple stereo you could concevably be out the door at 65 grand for this thing.Your still 150 LBS lighter then a Boxster S with 10 extra HP. Frankly what else do you need in a proper sports car? To me bluetooth,Sat Nav,extra fake chrome are nohting but an extreem waste of money anyway
