This isn't a car debate. This is a communist against capitalism debate. If you think for one minute that our oil dependance is all based on giant SUV's and that the oil could come from Saudi Arabia, Canada, Mexico wherever. It doesn't matter. This is the popular communist fad debate. I would like to ask the guy in the video and the bloggers; Do you have carpet in your house, Clothes, Windows, etc.... I could go on and on. 99.9999999% percent of everything we use is based from oil... Quit pushing this nazi facist debate. This is nothing but a fad just like eggs are bad for you then good for you, butter is bad for you then good for you, Global Warming --- Global Cooling!!!! It is all a bunch of pansie crap!!!!!

jason brings up a good point. everything has petrolium based products leeching into everything. oil and chemicals, two humungous industries that will do anything, including killing you to push their product. so if your kid gets a brain tumor because he falls asleep on the petrolium, chemical flame retardant, formaldahyde offgassing carpet while watching tv don't go crying to anyone 'cause crying ( especially about the environment) is all a bunch of pansie crap!!!!

Greencat,
I am surprised you actually found this web site and even more surprised you wrote anything. Does you name “green” imply you are green conscious or a crazy environmentalist (terrorist). I like your e-mail you did not throw in a bunch of crap. You say you don’t live in America and you don’t own a car. Were do you live? Is it easy not having a car?
Anyways, I am glad you have access to the web.
By the way, if you noticed that the Nightline report they did not report anything about all the positive commercials that were made and they also did not mention that GM is the leader in large SUV gas saving technology. I guess they must have just forgotten about that part? Spin spin spin

London? Intersting.
Public transporttation is more/less a joke around here in my part of the US. You will only find public transportation in the citys that have more than about 60,000 people. i wish we had more but it all has to do with money. I rerally wish we had better trains. It cost a lot less around here to drive a hundred or so milkes than it does to take a train. And the train usualy takes longer. Stupid!
Spin? Yes true. If you want the real truth you have to do a lot of digging to find it.
Its all about the money. Not that i dont like money but it screws up alot of things.
Stay safe UK.

So many of you people are ignorant. SUV Driver, you are a racist (redneck probably), and sound pretty stupid. I made a few of these commercials because I could truly voice how I feel about Chevrolet. Their products suck and their track record is worse. Anybody who stands by Chevy's products is just an idiot who was taught that Chivalay is fer Americans! They brought us the Chevette, the Vega, the Celebrity and my favorite, the Celebrity Eurosport. Their products are sub standard.....always have been and always will be. I can't wait until they file Chapter 11 or the union goes on strike.

most plastics that we use (consume doesn't quite sound right) in the US are made from natural gas feedstocks. Most of it happens in the Houston area where gulf (of Mexico, not Persian) gas is made into polyethylene and PVC, the two most popular plastics.
And CCDangie is pretty much right. (The Corvette somehow manages to kick tons of ass.) Just look at the Camaro. they pulled the plug on a dog of a car...Ford shows that a great looking muscle car can fly out of showrooms...and now GM might have a winner if they can get the latest design into dealers before 2010, or before the General implodes.
and right on Recovering Republican. Rather than face reality these nutjobs spit that sort of vitriol. grow up and get your head out of the sand. If you people aren't willing to change your behavior at least a little, this country will be but a shadow of its former self, headed for a fate like Argentina. (once the 10th biggest economy in the world, now smaller than Thailand.)
